What is League Age?

Your player’s league age is determined by the Little League Baseball® and Little League Softball® Age Charts. The dates for baseball and softball are different, but each determines the division in which your Little Leaguer will play this season. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Baseball player is the actual age of a child on August 31 of the current year. The Age Determination Date for a Little League Softball player is the actual age of a child on December 31 of the previous year.

The website will automatically present you with the programs available to you based on your league age not your actual age.

District 9 Sandlot

DISTRICT 9 SANDLOT BASEBALL

Don't play travel baseball and looking to play more? Starting in 2026, District 9 towns have provided a way for Little Leaguers who don't play travel baseball to play more. We are happy to announce the creation of District 9 Sandlot Baseball. This open to all Little Leaguers ages 9 and up who do not play Travel baseball and is free of charge.

Details

Play an extra game/ practice on the weekends vs Portland, Rocky Hill, Cromwell, and Wethersfield.
Must be in Minors or Majors for Middletown Little League.
Wear your Little League uniforms
No extra cost
Players League Age 9 to 12
13 Player limit (waitlist available)

We will need parents to help coach and run practices on the weekends for the season. Please reach out to [email protected] if you can help.

2026 Challenger Baseball

The Challenger Division welcomes players with physical or intellectual challenges, ages 4–18 (up to 22 if still in school), to enjoy Little League in an inclusive environment.

Players who can participate in the traditional Little League program with reasonable accommodations are encouraged to do so.
